TrueTime Prediction is FARA’s own intelligent algorithm for predicting bus arrival times. TrueTime automatically learns from past data without programming explicitly, and is based on vehicle sign-on, progress and position reports, for prediction precision.
TrueTime Prediction can be used for all the available journeys and stops imported in the central system. We use our TrueTime algorithm for generating reliable and trustworthy real-time prediction that is made available to passengers on websites, displays and mobile phones.
TrueTime takes into consideration schedule, time of day and geographical position across the history of the operation. Calculations are based on historical vehicle data with short term variations, as a weighted average.
Predictions are then made for all remaining stops in the current journey, and for any subsequent planned journeys for the vehicle. Vehicles included in Connection Assurance that have accepted to wait for a delayed bus, have the expected wait time included in their calculations.
FARA has made prediction systems for more than 20 years and the central prediction software supports forecasts based on block information, so that upcoming journeys are reported as delayed when the bus cannot meet the start time of the next journey.
Being able to predict the future is not always easy, but FARA has included our latest TrueTime Prediction engine for the highest quality of predicted arrival and departure times.
TrueTime Prediction’s algorithm accuracy and dependency have been tested and proven for over 20 years.
Calculations are based on historical vehicle data with short term variations, as a weighted average. Predictions are then calculated for all remaining stops in the current journey and subsequent journeys.
TrueTime performs quality reporting by refreshing prognoses for every minute for 1,2,10,15,20,25 minutes before arrival.
